"There's No Tomorrow" about to go into the wild
« on: February 11, 2012, 12:40:54 AM »
OK, last stretch before the film is done. Days now (shudder).

Currently uploading to Youtube (though I also have to upload to DailyMotion
and Hulu and Torrent). It's a 4gig file; hopefully YT will be able to handle the
conversion process.

I'll post the youtube link here once done, so you guys can be the first to see
it; that way, if anyone has problems, you can shout out. I should be getting
an upgraded internet connection early next week (this one only transfers
160kb ps, and cuts out three of four times a day, fucking Qwest is a joke).
Which is to say, it may be Tuesday before I can give you the YT link. Soon
though. If lucky, could be over the weekend.

Anyway, I asked Jock if he'd be OK with me listing HA as a go-to forum on the
movie's website, so it's there. Should be interesting to see if many newbies
find the place as a result.

Here's the film's website (the "view" links are inoperable, of course; waiting
for uploads for that stage).

http://www.incubatepictures.com/

The site is about 80% in Flash, which solves many problems, but of course
causes others. I may convert it to HTML at some point, but right now there's
way too much else to be getting on with.

I look forward to it dermot!
One thing I noticed is that the link to HA ends up pointing to http://www.incubatepictures.com/www.hubberts-arms.org/ rather than here. It may be that you just haven't enabled things yet.

Fantastic news, Dermot!  Looking forward to seeing it!  8)

From someone who has had the privilege of a sneak preview. Fantastic piece of work that deserves to go viral.

I've been playing around in the Bizarro-world of rendering video all day.

It will always be a bit of a mystery to me. Anyway, I finally seem to have
found a nice setting in Premiere; currently getting a nice 300M copy - which
is good, as that'll make it easier to spread. I'll make a bunch of different
renders, in different sizes, but the biggest (18gigs) probably won't move
across a network again!

Apparently it's VERY difficult to differentiate between 1080 and 1920,
and this project doesn't need 1920 (unless it's screened in a theater).

From someone who has had the privilege of a sneak preview. Fantastic piece of work that deserves to go viral.

Thanks! The prospect of virality is a bit scary to be honest (done it once,
and it was fun but insane).

Can't wait also to see it, as well as your posited noobs, hoo boy.

If they do turn up, folks will have to play nice!  ;D

True.. odds are the video will have traumatised them enough on its' own..  ;D

Good point, we have been observing and discussing this subject for so long that some complex subjects and ideas are tossed around like simple bullet points. Dermots movie is aimed at the average person who is just getting the idea that something is badly wrong. We should keep in mind our own initial reactions when first finding places like LATOC and Wolf at the door.

Frankly, I've been dreading this thing hitting main street, for that reason.

It's not easy to remain patient with people - who for the most part are in
the same head-space that I occupied not too long ago...

Excellent news, Dermot.

As for the possible newbie influx, I can think of 2 members who would have made them feel at home, but one is too busy between his bunker harem and his lizard friends, while the other is exiled to the closet of the mind of those who knew him.

Derm's work fully deserves to go viral and it quite possibly will.

And we might well get an influx of "cough splutter, you're all doomer nutjobs" types, which could be entertaining. Equally, we could get an influx of new (some stunned/bewildered/alarmed) members looking for more information.

Use your hands and feet as required. Haul the seekers of more information aboard. Kick the trolls back into the sea.
